How to Manage and Update Maintenance Jobs

Manage property maintenance jobs in Fructus: review existing repairs, update contractors, status, target dates, costs and notes, and check saved changes.

Before you start

  • Access to your Fructus organisation and a property already recorded in it. Have the correct unit available if the repair concerns one flat, room or other individual unit.
  • The issue’s location and description, its reported date, and any contractor, target date or cost information you already know.
  • Use the screenshots as examples, not live job information. Priorities, dates and costs should reflect your own records.

View and update maintenance jobs

  1. Locate and open the job

Find the job through its property group or use Open job in Needs attention. Read the title and property first, then review status, priority, description, contractor, Reported date and Target date.

  3. Update the recorded information

Change Status to an available option that reflects the work, select the Contractor, and update Target completion, costs or Notes as needed. In Progress is shown on the example job. Completed and Closed also appear in the history view; do not use a status merely to hide work that still needs attention.

  4. Select Save changes and review the result

Select Save changes to keep your edits, or Cancel to leave the form without saving those edits. Reopen the job and check the values you intended to change. Estimated cost is the expected amount; Actual cost records what the work actually cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does selecting a contractor send them the job?

Selecting a contractor records the assignment on the job. It does not establish that a message was sent or that an appointment was agreed. Arrange any necessary contact through your normal process.
