How to Complete and Close Maintenance Jobs

Review finished maintenance work in Fructus, record actual costs and completion details, use Complete job and check the resulting status and history.

Before you start

  • Access to your Fructus organisation and a property already recorded in it. Have the correct unit available if the repair concerns one flat, room or other individual unit.
  • The issue’s location and description, its reported date, and any contractor, target date or cost information you already know.
  • Use the screenshots as examples, not live job information. Priorities, dates and costs should reflect your own records.

Complete a maintenance job

Only record a repair as complete when the work has actually been reviewed as finished.

  1. Open and review the relevant job

Check the property, job description and recorded contractor. Review the work undertaken and any supporting documents before changing the record.

  2. Update costs and dates where applicable

Use Edit job to record Actual cost and any completion information you hold, then select Save changes. Keep estimated and actual costs distinct; recording a cost is not evidence that a contractor has been paid.

  3. Use Complete job

The job detail includes Complete job beside Edit job. Select it when appropriate and carefully review any confirmation presented before proceeding. Do not assume a click has completed the job: check the resulting status and recorded completion date afterwards.

  4. Check the completed record

Return to Maintenance and expand Completed / Archive to find the retained record. If a date filter hides it, clear or widen the filter and check the job’s recorded date.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Completed and Closed?

The archive displays Completed and Closed as separate labels and counts. The available examples do not explain the rule for choosing Closed. Do not assume Closed means the repair was completed; review the individual job details and your organisation’s recording practice.
